St Ignace Events

St. Ignace offers major events throughout the year. We kick off winter with our annual Labatt Blue UP Pond Hockey Championship in February .

April through September is all about auto shows. St. Ignace Car Shows are Michigan’s Best! Don’t miss our famous St. Ignace Car Show Weekend in June and the ever popular St. Ignace Truck Show, in September.

For those who love history and culture, be sure to attend the annual Native American Festival and the Rendezvous At The Straits Powwow.

Elise M. Kummer Nature Preserve

Visit the new Elise M. Kummer Nature Preserve that spans 582 acres in DeTour, near Lake Huron and the St. Mary’s River.

While it does not have dedicated hiking trails, it does have two-tracks open to the public.

Access Directions: From DeTour, follow East South Caribou Lake Road west for 4.2 miles, where a two-track on the left can then be followed for about a quarter-mile. A power line access provides a trail to access the preserve.
